THANK YOU for all your donations and support!

Thank you to everyone who participated: runners, volunteers, and everyone who generously donated but couldn't attend.  We had 87 racers who came out to support the homeless veterans.  All of your support filled 4 large SUV/Vans with supplies and over $1,000 in direct donations.  The Midwest Shelter is grateful and overwhelmed with your generosity.  I could not have done this without your support.  Thank you!

Continue the Giving

Please continue to support our homeless veterans through your generous donations.  You can learn more about them and donate at

My Eagle Project

Hello!  My name is Liam Walsh and I am an aspiring Eagle Scout that has been on this Boy Scout journey for ten years.  I have chosen my Eagle service project to focus on helping the Midwest Shelter for Homeless Veterans. I am organizing a 1 mile race to help stock their commissary store with clothing, household items, food and basic needs of homeless veterans and their families.  Join me and help make a difference. Thank you!

Fill and Bring a Grocery Bag to the Race

The race takes place on Sunday, June 10, 2018 at 10 a.m. at Prospect Park in Clarendon Hills. The price for admission to the race is a grocery bag filled with household items (please see list via link)."

We will have 2 races.  One for runners 12 years old and under and another for 13 years and over.  Prizes will be awarded to the top racers.  We will also have ice cream there for all race participants to enjoy!

Your Support Makes a Difference

Thank you for joining the race and for all your donations!  The Midwest Shelter for Homeless Veterans assists more than 300 homeless and at-risk veterans and their families every year. To learn more about them visit  Your support and generosity makes it all possible!
